Photoshoot with Roxanna

My recent photoshoot with Roxanna was in the works for about two or three months before taking place.  Between changing our concept and location a few times, we finally put it together and got the results we were hoping for.  The night before the shoot, we went through our wardrobe options to pick out what would go best with what we were wanting to shoot.  In the midst of it all, we decided to have a fun mini shoot at about 11:30 that night.  I had taken my camera with me on a hunch that we might end up shooting.  We shot a fun little set of her in some black framed glasses and white t-shirt while she was laying on a hardwood floor.  To make things quick and easy to light, I used my DIY ring flash and it worked great.

The next day, we drove out to our location where we met up with my good friend and fellow photographer, Carey Hess.  I had been wanting to shoot a model in motion so I had Roxanna run through a field.  It was different trying to run while looking through the viewfinder.   I just held down the shutter button and hoped that I got a few good shots in frame.  It turned out we got a few good gems that were in focus.

Overall, it was a successful two days.  I got some new shots that are different than my typical work.  This is something I’ve been wanting to work on, and this was a great way to start.
