Are you on Google+ yet?

Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and now Google+. Does it ever end? Before thinking you just can’t spare anymore time to another social network, ask around and try it out for a moment. As I’m still rather new to Google+, I believe that it has serious potential, especially for photographers.
The method of managing your groups circles of friends is great with the added bonus of being able to publish status updates to only specific circles. As a photographer, you may have circles such as “Models”, “Clients”, “MUA’s”, etc. With the circles, you can now choose a target audience for your status updates.
There is one particularly important place for photographers where Google+ completely dominates Facebook. Google+’s photo viewer undoubtedly puts Facebook’s to shame. Photos display much larger than they do on Facebook and without the horrible compression that photographers have come to hate so much.
Another fun feature that I have yet to test out, is the Hangout video conferencing. You can now video conference with up to ten people at one time without any additional software. It’s all done through the Google+ website. Virtual online production meetings just got a lot easier.
So if you’re on Google+, be sure to look me up, throw me into a circle, and share all your exciting news and work!
